The 2011 Greater Youngstown Italian Festival is over and it was a blast! We had exactly 100 entries in our homebrew competition and some great beers were drank! We'd like to thank our sponsors for helping us make this thing possible and a huge thanks to all those who showed up to judge and help out and of course congratulations to all the winners!

MAGMA will be holding its 2nd Annual Beer Competition Invitational at the Greater Youngstown Italian Festival on July 31st, 2011 at 9:00am in downtown Youngstown at 20 Federal Plaza Building.

Magma's chartered bus pub crawl was a resounding success. We had over 36 people attend and a great time was had by all. We'd like to take a moment to thank all of those who attended and can't wait until the next time!

The 2010 MAGMA/Youngstown Italian Fest Home Brewed Beer Competition is now in the books. It was a great time for all and we got to judge some great beers.
This was the first time that a homebrewed beer competition was held at the Italian Fest since it began over 25 years ago. It was well received by the festival patrons and generated quite a bit of interest in the hobby of home brewing.
We want to thank everybody involved in this event from the judges and stewards to the sponsors and entrants. We would also like to give special thanks to Bob Rubano of the Italian Fest Committee and Tony Bellatto of Havana House for getting us involved with the event, Jan Lobota the judge director, Sheila Lobota the head steward, and Dale Hendel the event organizer. Last and certainly not least, O’Donold’s Irish Pub in Austintown for their extremely generous support of this event. (THANK YOU, CHRISTIAN!)

Big Brew Day 2010 was a great success. All of us gathered at Wine Makers Headquarters at 10:00am to setup and brew. Amazingly enough mother nature and the weather held out even though the forecasters called for rain all day. We were able to sign up a few new members and fun was had by all.
